About
Thirty years of preparing cases the same way.
Admitted in 1995, I spent seventeen years as a founding partner of an Orange County, California divorce litigation firm that grew to thirty attorneys and staff, certified by the State Bar of California as a Family Law Specialist and trying the divorces of executives, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, and public figures: business valuations, executive compensation, assets traced across borders. An LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown, with distinction, is why what a settlement is worth after tax is where I do some of my best work.
Then a decade on the client's side of the table, as general counsel to a company in one of California's most heavily regulated industries, closing deals and trying the disputes that came with them. That taught me what clients actually need from a lawyer, and it is how Puzzle Group is run: deliberately small, one lawyer, files handled quietly, nothing rushed. Seventy-plus bench trials have taught me what judges respond to and what they ignore. That is the judgment I bring to a settlement conference, a parenting plan, or a federal magistrate's courtroom.
